WACO, Texas (Dec. 5, 2019) – This week, Baylor University will host a variety of concerts, performances and events to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season, including “Christmas Lights in the Village,” which will use more than 30,000 lights to illuminate the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village at the Mayborn Museum. The University will also begin Christmas break on Dec. 21 and will hold Commencement ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 21 in the Ferrell Center, 1900 S. University Parks Drive.

SUNDAY, Dec. 8

A Baylor Christmas - The combined choirs of Baylor University and the Baylor Symphony Orchestra will perform the annual “A Baylor Christmas” concert celebrating the Christmas season at 3 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. The popular event is sold out. Christmas Carillon Recital - The Christmas Carillon Recital, led by carillonneur Lynnette Geary, M.M., assistant to the dean at Baylor University, will feature a variety of holiday songs at Founders Mall in front of Pat Neff Hall, 1320 S. MONDAY, Dec. 9

Chamber Singers Christmas Concert - Brian A. Schmidt, D.M.A., associate professor of choral music and director of graduate choral studies, will conduct the Chamber Singers Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. in Armstrong Browning Library, 710 Speight Ave. General admission tickets are $15. TUESDAY, Dec. 10

FRIDAY, Dec. 13

Christmas Lights in the Village - More than 30,000 lights will illuminate the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village at the Mayborn Museum, 1300 S. University Parks Drive, as attendees enjoy a relaxing stroll through the village. Activities will include a petting zoo, photo-op visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, food for purchase from local vendors, live music and more. The village will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cabearet - Baylor’s Musical Theatre Workshop will perform in “Cabearet,” featuring Baylor students who study singing, dancing and acting in group and solo musical numbers from Broadway shows. All proceeds from the performance will benefit the Leta Horan and Jerry MacLauchlin Endowed Scholarship for Musical Theatre. The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. in Theater 11 of the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating. Christmas Closures - Residence halls will close at noon Dec. 21 and will reopen Jan. 9. Administrative offices close Dec. 24 and will resume normal business hours Jan. 2.
