Baylor Super Saturday Registration Under Way For Dec. 4 Sessions
Registration is under way now for preschoolers through high school seniors to attend the Dec. 4 Super Saturday sessions, sponsored by Baylor University's Center for Community Learning and Enrichment.
Four-year-olds through kindergarteners will explore the world of snow and ice through a series of interactive experiments during "It's a Snow Day!" from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Piper Child Development Center, 315 Washington Ave.
First through third graders will become engineers as they build a variety of LEGO models using wheels and axles, pulleys, gears and levers in "Building LEGO Simple Machines" from 9 a.m. to noon in room 215 of Baylor's Draper Academic Building.
Fourth and fifth graders will explore the science of genetics, play some DNA games and even take a look at some mutant fruit flies while on a "Genetic Journey" from 9 a.m. to noon in room D305 in the Baylor Sciences Building.
Sixth through eighth graders will focus on "Forensics" as they become forensic scientists and learn the basic techniques to solve a crime from 9 a.m. to noon at the Baylor forensic science lab, 2100 S. Third St.
High school students will learn everything they need to know about "Building the Best College Resume" from 9 a.m. to noon in rooms 200 and 203 of the Draper Academic Building.
The next Super Saturday session will be a Scholastic Chess Tournament for kindergarten students through high school seniors on Jan. 22, 2005.
