WACO, Texas (Sept. 6, 2019) — This week, Baylor University will host a collection of events by various academic units from the School of Music to the Hankamer School of Business, as well as guest speakers and faculty presentations. From Friday, Sept. 13, to Saturday, Sept. 14, Baylor will commence Family Weekend 2019 with activities for students and their families.

SUNDAY, Sept. 8

Emergence: Art and the Incarnation of Space - Martin Museum of Art is hosting the “Emergence: Art and the Incarnation of Space” exhibit through Oct. 6 in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. The exhibit is free and open to the public. MONDAY, Sept. 9
Faculty Recital - The School of Music will host a faculty recital featuring Isabelle Demers, Ph.D., associate professor of organ, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. This event is free and open to the public. Confessions of an Entrepreneur Lunch Speaker Series - The John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise in Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business will host Denitia Blount, owner of Oh My Juice, who will speak as part of the Confessions of an Entrepreneur lunchtime speaker series, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in room 250 of the Paul L. Daniel B. McGee Endowed Lecture - The annual Daniel B. McGee Endowed Lecture Series will feature Susan Ackerman, Ph.D., The Preston H. C.S. Lewis Lecture - Judith Wolfe, Ph.D., professor of philosophical theology and deputy head of the School of Divinity at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, will present a lecture on “C.S. Lewis: Inklings of Heaven” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Chapel of the Tidwell Bible Building, 600 Speight Ave. The event is co-sponsored by Baylor University Press, the department of religion in Baylor’s College of Arts & Sciences and Truett Seminary.

Boundary Breaking Women’s Panel - From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Baylor women’s and gender studies will host its annual panel celebrating the boundary-breaking accomplishments of women. During this fast-paced, high-energy event, 10 Baylor faculty members will introduce the audience to 10 boundary-breaking women from a variety of disciplines.
