Baylor Theatre Summer Series Presents ‘An Infinite Ache’ and ‘With Love and a Major Organ’

WACO, Texas (June 11, 2019) – Baylor University Theatre will open its 2019 Summer Series with performances of “An Infinite Ache” June 20-22 and “With Love and a Major Organ” June 27-29, both in Theatre 11 in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave.
David Schulner’s “An Infinite Ache” follows the characters of Hope and Charles as they envision the possibilities of a life together.
“Following an unspectacular first date, Hope asks Charles if she can lie down for no more than an hour,” said director Edward Vermeulen-Wise, a master’s candidate in directing. “In that hour, Hope and Charles imagine a lifetime together; one of an infinite number of possibilities. Together they explore all love has to offer: the heartache and joy, loss and rebirth, separation and reconciliation. Schulner’s play celebrates two individuals’ discovery of themselves and learning to share that discovery with each other.”
“An Infinite Ache” will run at 7:30 p.m. June 20-22. Due to adult themes and language, this production is intended for mature audiences.
Julia Lederer’s “With Love and a Major Organ” is a modern fairytale about human connection, said director Jessica Holt, a master’s candidate in directing.
“A chance meeting on the subway sets in motion a whirlwind of events and emotions,” Holt said. “This imaginative and poetic play explores how much of your heart you should give away. Through the characters of George, Mona and the Subway Rider, we see that while having a heart can be painful, it is infinitely better than not having one.”
“With Love and a Major Organ” will run June 27-29, also at 7:30 p.m. This production is appropriate for all ages.
Tickets for the Summer Series are on sale now at $15 for a single show or $25 for a package including both shows. Seating is general admission.
