'Breakfast At Baylor' With Popular Professors Begins Sept. 28
Baylor University's division of continuing education and the Baylor Alumni Association will present the first "Breakfast at Baylor" event of the new academic year from 7 to 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center, 1212 S. University Parks Drive.
Dr. Mark Long, director of Baylor's Middle East studies program, will speak on "Current Critical Developments in the Middle East" at the popular quarterly forum in which a Baylor faculty member speaks about relevant contemporary issues with local citizens.
Long is the author of Saddam's War of Words: Politics, Religion, and the Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait and was among a group of Baylor professors who traveled to Iraq in December for a teaching exchange program. In his "Breakfast at Baylor" discussion, he will address several topics, including the impact of Iraq's proposed democratization on the economy, infrastructure, morale and safety of Iraq; the effect of the war on terror on the lifestyles of Middle Easterners and Americans; Israel's future in Gaza; and the status of the relationship between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

The "Breakfast at Baylor" events are open to the public. The cost is $12.50 per person per lecture or $45 for the series of four breakfasts. A table for eight can be reserved for $90 per lecture.
