'The Place 2BU' Begins With Late Night Activity For All Students
Baylor University's Student Union begins its popular "The Place 2BU" events with "Late Night at the SLC" from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the McLane Student Life Center. 'The Place 2BU' is a series of free weekend activities designed to honor students' requests for more night and weekend programming. "Late Night at the SLC" was created to showcase the recreational side of Baylor.
The event at the SLC will feature several games, including bingo, balloon madness, frozen chicken bowl, broomball, a game show similar to MTV's "Singled Out," a competition patterned after NBC's "Fear Factor," and an extreme dodgeball intramural competition. The Baylor music band "Dutton" will perform as well as the Latin Dance society. Free food including funnel cakes, pizza, corndogs, an ice cream parlor pig out, and a 'Late Night Café' also will be available. More than 50 student organizations will have informative tables set up to help both new and returning students get involved in the campus community.
"'Late Night at the SLC' is a great opportunity for students to get plugged in around campus. It is an easy way to see the faces of the students representing the various organizations and an awesome evening of fun and games," said Cece Lively, graduate assistant for Student Union programming.
