Habitat for Humanity Sponsors Dance Nov. 22

As part of the 10th anniversary celebration of its collegiate program, Habitat for Humanity International will sponsor a dance Saturday, Nov. 22, in Knox Hall of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. The event will run from 6:30-11 p.m.
Music for the dance will be provided by Dallas bands Tripp and Rhythm. Maxwell House will distribute coffee from its mobile cafe and Big Daddy's hamburgers and Dr Pepper will serve food and drink. Outside the Ranger Hall of Fame, the Baylor chapter of Habitat for Humanity will sponsor various games.
More than 500 people from throughout the United States are expected to attend the 10th anniversary celebration, which runs Nov. 21-23 at Baylor. Opening ceremonies for the weekend event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in Jones Concert Hall. Millard Fuller, founder and president of Habitat for Humanity International, will deliver the keynote address.
To kick off Habitat's goal of building 100 new homes during the next year, dedication ceremonies of a home constructed by the Baylor chapter of Habitat for Humanity will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1218 N. 15th St.
Baylor was the first university in the U.S. to organize a collegiate Habitat chapter. Currently, more than 470 chapters in nine countries participate in Habitat's Campus Chapters and Youth Programs.
