Baylor University Celebrates Dia Del Oso with Fun Run, Petting Zoo, Movie Showings and More

WACO, Texas (April 13, 2019) – Since 1932, Baylor University students have celebrated a day off from classes to spend time with friends, listen to live music and enjoy the spring weather. This year, Baylor University will celebrate Dia Del Oso on Tuesday, April 17, with yoga, petting zoos, concerts and more.

Dia Del Oso, or "The Day of the Bear," will be preceded by Noche De Oso, a tradition that began in 2016. The events will begin Monday night and continue through late Tuesday.

Schedule of Events
Monday, April 16: Noche Del Oso at McLane Stadium, 1001 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
• 5:30 – 8 p.m.: Student Organization Activity Carnival
• 5 – 8 p.m.: Flag Football on McLane Field
• 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.: Crawfish Boil
• 7 – 8 p.m.: Free Throw Contests with President Dr. Linda A. Livingstone and First Gent Brad Livingstone
• 8 – 10:30 p.m.: Movie at McLane – "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"
