Russian Debate Team to Argue With Baylor Team Oct. 29

The Rufus and Alline Huff Debate on U.S. Foreign Policy will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center at Baylor University.
The argument that Russia should be offered and accept full membership in NATO will be debated by two students from Baylor and two students from Russia.
Debating for Baylor will be brother and sister Ben and Rebecca Coulter from Montevallo, Ala. Ben is a senior majoring in communications studies and Rebecca is a junior studying education. The Coulters will take the affirmative position of the debate.
The Russian team will consist of Vladislav Zlenko and Alexei Zhuravlev, both of whom are studying political science at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Zlenko and Zhuravlev are in the middle of a three-month debate tour to U.S. colleges and universities.
The debates are sponsored by the Department of Communication Studies and the Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum. The event is free and open to public.
