Discover Waco Fair Set for Oct. 17

October 14, 1997

Students of Baylor University will have an opportunity to learn more about Waco and have fun in the process at the Discover Waco Fair from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, in the basement of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
The fair is sponsored by the Waco Convention Center and the Waco Chamber of Commerce and began three years ago as an opportunity for Waco businesses to bring their attractions to the Baylor campus, according to Donna Baird, tourism representative for the Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
More than 20 vendors will sponsor booths, among them the Dr Pepper Museum, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, Cameron Park Zoo, Sweet Dreams Carriage Service, Waco Civic Theatre and Texas Ranger Museum.
Door prizes will be given every 30 minutes from the attractions. Prizes will include airline tickets, T-shirts, limousine passes, gift baskets, free hotel stays and food coupons. The winners will be posted during the fair.
