Fall Development Council to Meet Oct. 11

About 400 persons from throughout the country will attend the annual fall meeting of the Baylor University Development Council at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Jesse H. Jones Theater, located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center.
Council members will hear several reports about the university, and Dallas businessman Leo Parchman Jr., chair of the council, will preside.
Dr. Gwin Morris, associate vice president for university development, will recognize new members. Dr. Richard C. Scott, vice president for university development, will give an update on the Student Life Complex and Dr. Donald D. Schmeltekopf, provost and vice president for academic affairs, will recognize nine outstanding students, one each from the major colleges and schools within the university.
Tom Stanton, director of athletics, will give an update on the Bears' sports programs and Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr. will present a "state of the university" report.
The Development Council is a group of several hundred alumni and friends of Baylor interested in the growth and development of the university. Members from throughout the United States meet once in the fall and spring to consider and advise all phases of Baylor's development work.
