Baylor to Host Missions Emphasis Week

October 7, 1997

The Baylor University Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) will host Missions Emphasis Week Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 13-15, on the Baylor campus.
More than 25 missionaries from throughout the world will share their missionary experiences with students and faculty. The missionaries will speak during Baylor classes, luncheons and special seminars hosted by the BSM. They will talk with students informally and present pictures and artifacts of the countries they minister to during a missions fair held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the week in the lobby of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Nancie Wingo, a missionary to the Middle East and a Baylor alumna, will speak to Baylor students at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, during Chapel-Forum. Wingo has earned recognition as a Distinguished Alumna of Baylor and was the most requested missionary by Baylor faculty to speak in classes.
"Missions Emphasis Week gives missionaries a chance to share the advancement of the Gospel in other countries and to inspire Baylor students to consider committing their lives to short term or career missionary endeavors," said Clif Mouser, director of the Baylor BSM.
