The series began in 1995 and is a weekly session which features different faculty members who discuss current issues with which they have direct experience.
"It gives those attending insight and background in different areas," said Dr. Joan E. Supplee, associate professor of history and director of Latin American studies. "What I have learned as a faculty member is astounding."
The council also will show "Ashes and Diamonds" as part of its foreign film series. The Polish film will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Room 101 of the Castellaw Communications Building.
Both the lecture and the film are free and open to the public.
