Mungello to Speak On Hong Kong During Breakfast at Baylor Sept. 23

September 18, 1997

Dr. David Mungello, professor of history and director of the Asian Studies Program at Baylor University, will speak on "China's Absorption of Hong Kong" at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Harrington House, located at 1313 South Eighth Street.
His lecture is part of the Breakfast at Baylor series sponsored by the Baylor Office of Continuing Education and the Waco Chamber of Commerce.
Breakfast at Baylor was established to provide the academic and business communities with an opportunity to enjoy a meal, hear a brief lecture on a current issue by a Baylor faculty member and engage in informal conversation with other guests.
"I have an interest in Hong Kong because I lived there for a year and taught at Lingnan College. It's kind of a personal interest but it's also my field," Mungello said.
Mungello said he hopes those attending will develop a "better appreciation for Hong Kong and its relationship with China."
The cost is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members.
