High School Seniors to Visit Baylor Sept. 13

September 8, 1997

WACO, Texas - More than 1,000 high school seniors will get a close-up look at Baylor University from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, during Fall Premiere.
Premiere will consist of a question and answer period for students and parents, an activities fair to learn about campus events and organizations, a campus tour, academic sessions with Baylor faculty and a pep rally. The program will begin with a presentation from Baylor President Robert B. Sloan, Jr.
Students arriving in Waco on Friday, Sept. 12, may attend a mixer at 7:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Cashion Building in the Hankamer School of Business. Rachelle Sheffield, assistant director of recruitment for Baylor, said the Premiere program represents an important part of a student's decision of where to attend college.
"Over half the students who attend Fall Premiere and are admitted to the university, enroll at Baylor," she said. "This is a successful program and a great opportunity for high school seniors and their parents to get a real look at the academics, facilities and extracurricular activities of Baylor."
The Office of Admission Services and Kappa Omega Tau fraternity host the program.
