August 25, 1997

WACO, Texas - The George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University will hold its fourth annual convocation at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Waco, 500 Webster.
Dr. Brad Creed, dean of the seminary, will speak on "Creation and Cultivation." All Truett faculty members will be dressed in full academic regalia, and Dr. John B. Davidson, emeritus professor of religion, will serve as bearer of the mace.
"The convocation is a time of reflection on the upcoming academic year," said Creed. "It is a time of spiritual rebirth for the students and faculty at Truett Seminary."
The seminary, incorporated in 1991, began its first classes in August 1994. Enrollment for this fall is expected to be about 130 students, according to Creed.
