Baylor to Host Speed, Strength Workouts June 2-Aug. 1

The Robb Rogers Speed Strength Development workouts begin their inaugural season at Baylor University on Monday, June 2, and will continue through Aug. 1.
Workouts lasting about one and half hours will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Floyd Casey Stadium. Students entering grades 8-12 in the fall of 1997 can sign up to participate at 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. each Monday at the stadium.
Training will concentrate on speed development, flexibility, mobility, agility, strength, power and injury prevention. A fee of $45 per week will be charged.
The workouts will be led by Robb Rogers, Baylor strength coach, and Darren Honeycutt and Mike Nagler, assistant strength coaches. Rogers is entering his fifth year as Baylor's strength coach and served four years in that capacity for the University of Southern California. He was named national Strength Coach of the Year in 1996. He holds degrees from Southwest Missouri State University and the University of Missouri.
The workouts are sponsored by Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
