Waco-Area Family Business Leaders to 'Surf the Net' May 27

WACO, Texas - Baylor University's Institute for Family Business will present a seminar on "Internet Interaction for the Family Business," the fourth program in its 1997 Waco Family Business Seminar Series, on Tuesday, May 27, at the Blume Conference Center at the Hankamer School of Business.
The program will start at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast, followed by a live Internet instruction/demonstration from 8-9 a.m. and "Hands-on Internet Surfing" from 9-10 a.m. The instructor will be Dr. James F. Moshinskie, lecturer in information systems at Baylor.
Bob Hughes, director of the Institute for Family Business, said participants will use a specially equipped classroom where Moshinskie will give a live demonstration of the Internet and how to use it. Later, the participants will move to Hankamer's computer lab, where they will spend time on individual computers.
Hughes said, "They will see how the Internet can be used to tap into an incredible wealth of knowledge, information and services - all available to anyone with a computer and a phone line."
The 1997 Waco Family Business Seminar Series was planned by the Institute for Family Business specifically for family-owned firms in the Waco area. The Institute for Family Business is a nationally-recognized organization that provides educational programs for family-owned businesses throughout the state.
Hughes said the aim of the Waco seminar series is to develop skills and strategies for a healthy family business. He said last year's seminar series helped hundreds of family business owners and managers in the Waco area.
