WACO, Texas (Oct. 28, 2016) — This week, Baylor University will host several notable speakers, lectures, concerts and events, including Festival of Faiths at the Mayborn.
SUNDAY, Oct. 30:
Festival of Faiths at the Mayborn — The Mayborn Museum Complex and the Greater Waco Interfaith Conference will host the Festival of Faiths from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mayborn Museum Complex, 1300 S. University Parks Drive. Guests will experience different faith traditions through food, activities and displays. This event is free and open to the public. MONDAY, Oct. 31:
Chapel Highlights — The Rev. Susan Pendleton Jones, senior fellow at Baylor University’s Institute for Faith and Learning, will speak in Chapel at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. For more information and a list of future speakers, visit the chapel website.
Halloween Organ Concert — Isabelle Demers, assistant professor of organ, and Baylor organ students will perform the annual Halloween Organ Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. This concert is free and open to the public. Movie Mondays at the Hippodrome — Student Activities and the Waco Hippodrome will show “Ghostheads” at 7 p.m. at the Hippodrome, 724 Austin Ave. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office, 1311 S. Lyceum Series Lecture — Tim Lautzenheiser, well known in the music education world, will present a lecture at 6:15 p.m. in Meadows Recital Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. This event is free and open to the public. TUESDAY, Nov. 1:
Environmental Sciences Lecture — Elias Oziolor, Ph.D. candidate in biomedical sciences and environmental sciences, will speak on “Evolution of Resistance to Contaminants in Gulf Killifish Populations from Galveston Bay, TX” at 5 p.m. in Room A108 of the Baylor Sciences Building, 101 Bagby Ave.
McGee Endowed Lecture — Amina Wadud, Ph.D., professor of Islamic studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and author of “Inside the Gender Jihad: Women’s Reform in Islam,” will present a lecture titled “Combining Spirit, Intellect and Social Justice for Islamic Reform and a Better World” at 3:30 p.m. in Miller Chapel of Tidwell Bible Building, 600 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the department of religion website.

Allbritton Art Lecture — Paul Hayes Tucker, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Boston, will present the Allbritton Art Lecture at 6 p.m. in Mabee Theatre in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. Tucker will lecture on the artistic evolution of the Impressionist painter, Claude Monet. FRIDAY, Nov. 4:
Business Ethics Forum — Magatte Wade, founder and CEO of Tiossan, will present an invitation-only lecture titled “Business as the Driver of Social and Economic Justice” at 11:30 a.m. in Room 250 of the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, 1621 S. Third St.
Biology Lecture — Dion Oxman, Ph.D., director of the Mark, Tag and Age Lab in Juneau, Alaska, will present a lecture at 2:30 in Room C206 of the Baylor Sciences Building, 101 Bagby Ave. Oxman is in charge of research involving salmon in Alaska and is influential in world affairs of salmon conservation and research.
