Four Uca Cheerleading Campus to be Held This Summer

May 19, 1997

Baylor University will host four Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camps this summer. The first camp will run from May 25-28 followed by camps May 29-June 1, June 11-14 and August 4-7. The June 11-14 camp will be designed for Christian cheerleading groups.
Instructors for the camps will be provided by the UCA, the largest cheerleading company in the nation. The camps are open to cheerleaders in the fifth grade through seniors in high school.
Participants will receive in-depth instruction in new cheers, sideline chants, pompom routines, tumbling, conditioning and safety. Private coaching sessions will be available each day. A mascot camp will run simultaneously at each cheerleading camp.
A session of camp costs $106 for commuters and $45 for their advisers. Resident campers pay $187, which includes room and board. The resident adviser charge is $167.
