May 6, 1997

WACO, Texas - Songwriter and singer Barry Manilow will perform for one show only at 8 p.m. Friday, June 27th, in the Ferrell Center at Baylor University.
Manilow's concert will feature his greatest hits from the past 20 years and the latest hits from his new album, "Summer of '78." Select members of the audience will be able to select the songs he will sing by using an interactive electronic device. The audience will choose the songs from a catalog of 29.
Manilow will also perform his latest single, "Bluer Than Blue" for the Waco audience.
A pop music favorite since the early 1970s, Manilow has had 25 Top 20 hits. His special on the A&E network last December prompted more than two million fans around the world to phone in to request their favorite Manilow songs.
"As long as the fans stick to my songs and don't request Ukulele Lady or Roll Me in the Clover, I'll be OK," Manilow said. "But ask me to play a Metallica song and I'm history."
Tickets went on sale April 7 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets including Blockbuster Music in Waco and Foley's in Temple. Tickets may also be charged by phone by calling (817) 752-8822. Tickets are $30 and $20.
