Problem-Solving Camp to Open for Gifted Students June 9-13

WACO, Texas -- A new summer program, the Creative Problem-Solving Camp for gifted students entering 1st through 4th grades, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 9-13 at a school in the Waco Independent School District.
Sponsored by Baylor University's Center for Learning Abilities and Talent Development, the Creative Problem-Solving Camp will feature the theme of "structures." Students will work together in groups of 10-15 to create a new city with unique political, physical, economic, technical and aesthetic characteristics.
The camp is an opportunity for gifted students from the Central Texas area to meet and work together on their individual structures. It is being organized and taught by educators trained in working with gifted children.
Applications for the program are available from the Center for Learning Abilities and Talent Development. The cost of the program is $130 and $20 registration fee, which includes a t-shirt. Some scholarships are available.
