WACO, Texas (Dec. 7, 2015) – The Christmas spirit is alive and well at Baylor University’s Mayborn Museum Complex, and everyone is invited to take part.
Christmas in the Village will take place in the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village at the Mayborn Museum from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, and will include many festive holiday events.
“The historic village as the backdrop for this event provides a unique way to get into the Christmas spirit,” said Rebecca Tucker Nall, assistant director of communication at the Mayborn Museum Complex. “We have a fun-filled day planned for the entire family.”
Bring your friends and family to enjoy a warm cup of apple cider, Christmas crafts, storytelling, Christmas carols and more. Crafts will include candle stick dipping, making wrapping paper and helping decorate a village Christmas tree with paper decorations and popcorn strings.
Another special event is “Santa’s Magic Bells,” a puppet show that tells the story of Santa and his hyper elf, Ringle Dingle. The show will take place at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Santa will make special appearances and be available for photo opportunities in the rotunda from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Demonstrations in the village will include blacksmithing, woodworking, knitting, rug weaving and cooking.
Regular admission to the museum includes all activities, events and admission to “All Aboard the Mayborn Express,” a train exhibit. Activities and events are free to all museum members and college students with a valid student identification card. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $4 for children age 12 and under.
The Mayborn Museum Complex is located at 1300 S. University Parks Drive.
