WACO, Texas (Nov. 12, 2015) – On Saturday, Nov. 14, Baylor University will welcome ESPN College GameDay to Waco for the second consecutive year for a live broadcast of the popular show. The show airs prior to that night's nationally televised game on ABC between No. 4 Baylor and No. 12 Oklahoma at McLane Stadium.

The GameDay broadcast will originate from the Umphrey Pedestrian Bridge that links the Baylor campus to McLane Stadium over the Brazos River. Fans are encouraged to gather for the show in the South Plaza of McLane Stadium.

Excited and energetic fans are an important part of the ESPN College GameDay experience. Baylor students, alumni and friends are encouraged to fill the South Plaza and show their Baylor spirit as the television cameras roam the crowd.

A special reserved section for students called the "student pit" is located just behind the GameDay stage. (For more information about student camping and check-in procedures, go to www.baylor.edu/students/gameday/.) Other fans may be a part of the show throughout the Plaza area. Fans may begin taking their places near the set starting at 6 a.m. Saturday. The three-hour show will begin its live broadcast at 8 a.m.

GameDay Shuttle Service

The Umphrey Pedestrian Bridge will close to pedestrian traffic at 7 a.m. Saturday and remain closed until approximately 3 p.m. Fans are encouraged to approach the stadium from the North side along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. or utilize free shuttles that will run from:

  • Downtown Waco (Fifth Street at Austin Avenue) from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Baylor's campus:
  • Ferrell Center from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • University Parks entrance to the "I Believe Walkway" from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Fifth Street near Penland Hall from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

(Note: Normal home-game shuttle service from downtown and campus will begin at 4 p.m.)

GameDay Parking

Fans who hold credentialed parking passes for any of the credentialed home football game lots (including the McLane Stadium lots and tailgating area) may park in their designated lot for the ESPN show, exit the lot after the show and use their pass for re-entry into their assigned lot for the game. Credentialed lots open at 6 a.m.

Fans who do not have credentialed parking for home games may park for free in surface lots and non-credentialed garages on Baylor's campus or in downtown lots and ride the shuttles to the stadium.

Big Weekend for Baylor

ESPN College GameDay is part of a weekend full of excitement leading up to the Baylor-Oklahoma Big 12 battle. Baylor fans can enjoy the entire weekend including:

On Friday
Baylor men's and women's basketball play season home-openers with a doubleheader in the Ferrell Center. The No. 5-ranked Lady Bears take on UT-Arlington at 6 p.m., followed by the No. 22 Bears vs. SFA at 8:30 p.m. The winners of the Baylor Homecoming float competition will be announced at halftime of the men's game.

On Saturday

  • 6 a.m. ESPN College GameDay set opens for fans
  • 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. ESPN College GameDay Live Broadcast
  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Baylor Homecoming floats and parade balloons display on Fifth Street
  • 3 p.m. Baylor Alumni Sports Network Tailgate
  • 4 p.m. Bear Walk welcomes the Baylor Bears to McLane Stadium
  • 5 p.m. Baylor Sports Network Tailgate Radio Show
  • 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. KWTX Pre-game Television Show Live Broadcast from Touchdown Alley (airs CW12 and FOX Sports Plus)
  • 7 p.m. Kickoff: OU vs. Baylor (nationally televised on ABC)
