Baylor to Host Latin American Studies Conference March 19

The Latin American Studies program of Baylor University will host the ninth annual Joseph F. Velez Latin American Studies Conference from 2-5 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center in the Hankamer School of Business.
The conference speakers will focus on the theme "Race and Ethnicity in the Americas." The speakers include Dr. James Vardaman, the Jo Murphy Chair in International Education and Master Teacher, and Dr. Sijefredo Loa, associate professor of Spanish at Baylor.
Other conference speakers include Dr. Aline Helg of the University of Texas, Dr. Mariano Diaz-Miranda of Austin Community College, and Dr. Patrick Carroll of Corpus Christi State University.
