Baylor to Host Starburst Men's Basketball Tournament

WACO, Texas -- Baylor University will host the Starburst Men's Basketball tournament on March 7-11, in the Ferrell Special Events Center.
The tournament is sponsored by M&M Mars and is hosted and coordinated by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce.
Sixteen junior colleges must qualify in order to compete in the tournament. McLennan Community College, Odessa College, Frank Phillips College, South Plains College, San Jacinto Central College, Jacksonville College, Tyler Junior College, Angelina College, Lon Morris College, Lee College, Temple College, Grayson College and Weatherford College are some of the colleges that will compete in the tournament.
Games for March 7-9 will be played at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Semi-finals will be held at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on March 10. The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. on March 11.
The Kilgore Rangerettes will perform during halftime at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on March 7. McLennan Community College will play at 8 p.m. on March 7.
Ticket prices are $6 per session (two games) for adults and $1 for children under 12. Those who bring a Starburst wrapper to the ticket office can receive a $2 discount coupon. Coupons also are at Shell filling stations and Schlotzsky's.
