1,509 Students Indicate Ministry Interest at Baylor

WACO, Texas -- The Ministry Guidance Program of Baylor University has recently reported that 1,509 spring semester students indicated an interest in a ministry vocation.
This represents approximately one-seventh of the total spring enrollment for the university. Annually, at least one-tenth of all Baylor students indicate an interest in a ministry career.
Of the total ministry students, 164 indicated an interest in pastoral ministry that consists of preaching, pastoral and counseling ministry. Also, 194 students noted interest in education ministries that consist of education, youth, recreation and college ministry.
Students interested in music totaled 79 and students interested in missions totaled 123. Students that were undecided or interested in other ministries totaled 949.
The Ministry Guidance report distinguished nine categories among the various denominations that students indicated they were a part of. Among the denominations represented, 937 students were Baptist, 97 were Methodist and 71 Catholic students.
