New Officers Appointed to Baylor/waco Foundation

Bob Senter, development officer at Baylor University, has been appointed executive director of the Baylor/Waco Foundation. Senter, a Waco native, is a graduate of Midway High School and Baylor. He began working in the office of development in July 1995 and had been associate executive director of the foundation. Senter also is president of the Red Cross Gallon Club board, president of the Austin Avenue United Methodist Church Men and a board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Erin Davis, area manager for Southwestern Bell, has been named president of the Baylor/Waco Foundation. She received a bachelor of business administration from the University of Texas and a Masters of Business Administration from St. Edwards University. She is president of United Way of McLennan County, president-elect of the Waco Rotary Club, an advisory board member for Waco Adopt-a-School and a board member of the Business Resource Center, McLennan County 911. In 1994, she was named American Business Woman Associate of the Year.
Also, Scott Salmans, president of WRS Athletic Club, has been named campaign chairman of the foundation. Salmans received a bachelor's degree from Baylor. Previously, he served as vice president of business development for the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the boards of the Heart of Texas Fair Complex, Earle-Harrison Historic Home, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, KCTF Public Television and the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, Sam Smith has been appointed to the Baylor/Waco Foundation board. Smith is a Baylor graduate and currently is president of First Waco National Bank. He is active in civic affairs and has served on the boards of the Baylor Alumni Association, HOT Goodwill Industries, WISD Adopt-A-School, Parents for Public Schools and Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce.
The Baylor/Waco Foundation is the official hometown support group for Baylor and has provided leadership to accomplish fund raising for expansion, construction and renovation. The foundation currently is joining forces with the Cooper Foundation, Waco Foundation and Rapoport Foundation to raise funds for a new acoustic shell in Waco Hall. "This foundation is like no other at Baylor because it benefits both the community and university with its mission," Senter said.
