January 9, 1997

More than 1,000 people from the Baylor and Waco communities will gather at 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, in the Ferrell Center for the Baylor University President's Community Prayer Breakfast.
The prayer breakfast gives an opportunity for the Baylor and Waco families to give thanks to God for the past year and seek His direction for the new year.
Participating in the program will be the Rev. Bill Cobb, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, Dr. Milton E. Cunningham, director of Baylor's Office of Denominational Ministries, and Dr. Brad Creed, dean of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Sharing a testimonial will be Melvin Hunt, academic adviser for Baylor, and his wife Carmen.
Revelation, a quartet from Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, will minister in song as well as Dr. John Van Cura, professor of vocal studies at Baylor. Dr. John B. Davidson, emeritus Craig Professor of Religion at Baylor, will present a meditation on prayer.
