Christmas Program to Be Presented Dec. 7-8

November 27, 1996

Christ in Action, a local outreach ministry, will present "Come Alive" at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8, in the Jesse H. Jones Theater, located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center at Baylor University.
The play tells the historical Christmas story in the context of a modern day family. The production will present the Christmas story like it has never been done before, said Rusty Lee Thomas, writer and director of the play.
" 'Come Alive' is a modern day Christmas production that journeys back to Bethlehem to bring the answer of the ages to a family teetering on the brink of destruction," Thomas said. "This powerful drama chronicles the desperate plight of a home torn apart by alcohol and abuse. The audience goes from laughter to tears as it sees the babe in the manger bring reconciliation."
The drama also will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, and at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Church on the Rock, Waco, located at 4720 North 19th Street; at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Bellmead Baptist Church, located at 1000 Ashleman; and at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at First Baptist Church, Woodway, located at 1300 West Woodway Drive. All the presentations are free and open to the public.
