Mayborn Museum Complex features Paleontologist for Lecture

WACO, Texas (June 12, 2014) – Saturday in the newest exhibit at the Mayborn Museum Complex, John Hutchinson, Ph.D., chief paleontology advisor for the exhibit, will give two lectures on the attraction’s theme: Be the Dinosaur: Life in the Cretaceous.
The first lecture is geared more towards a younger audience and begins at 11 a.m. The second lecture, for older children and adults, will take place at 2 p.m. Both will be held in the SBC Theater in the museum.
Hutchinson will describe to his audience what life was like for a dinosaur in the Cretaceous period.
"He will be primarily discussing the Tyrannosaurus rex in relation to other large animals today," said Rebecca Tucker Nall, assistant director of communication for the museum.
"We are excited to be able to offer the benefit of his expertise to our visitors and community."
Be the Dinosaur opened May 24 and will be open through September 3. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Admission into the Mayborn and the Be the Dinosaur exhibit is $10 per adult, $9 for seniors and $5 for children under the age of 12. Baylor students and Mayborn Museum Members are admitted for free.
