Georgia Regents University Names Dr. Karla Leeper as New Chief of Staff to President

WACO, Texas (April, 23, 2014) -- Karla Leeper, Ph.D., vice president of board and executive affairs and chief compliance officer at Baylor University, will be resigning her position at Baylor to become the chief of staff to the President at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Ga.

Dr. Leeper came to Baylor in the fall of 1992 as an assistant professor of communication studies and the director of the nationally recognized Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum. In addition to her faculty service, Dr. Leeper served two years as department chair. In June of 2007 she became chief of staff to the President and has been a part of the central administration since that time.

Georgia Regents is a comprehensive research university that is home to the Medical College of Georgia. In her new role, Dr. Leeper will help manage the President's office and provide executive oversight to the advancement and alumni relations, marketing and communication, and government relations functions for the university.
