Baylor University Will Host Ninth Annual Philosophy of Religion Conference

WACO, Texas (April 7, 2014) – Baylor’s department of philosophy will hold the ninth annual Philosophy of Religion Conference from Thursday, April 10, through Saturday, April 12, at the Armstrong Browning Library and the Waco Hilton.

Presentation topics range from Calibrationism to modality.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Thursday, April 10

Presentations will take place in the Research Hall of the Armstrong Browning Library.

3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Meghan Dupree: "The Physics of a Believer: Duhemian Reflections on the Boundaries of Science”

4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., Jason Turner: “A (Broadly) Tractarian Theory of Modality”

Dinner

Friday, April 11

Presentations will take place in the Lavaca Room in the Waco Hilton. Breakfast will be available in the conference room at 8 a.m.

8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Bradley Rettler: “Mereological Nihilism (Nearly) Unmotivated”

9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Jeroen de Ridder: "The Argument from Scale”

11 a.m.to noon, Robert Garcia: "The Nature of Creaturely Properties in a World Sustained by God”

Lunch

2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Charity Anderson: "Defeat, Testimony, and Miracles”
