Houston Worship Director Diane Green Will Speak at Baylor on Ministry Through Music

WACO, Texas (March14, 2014) – The Church Music Forum in Baylor’s Center for Christian Music Studies will host Diane Greene, executive director of worship, music and fine arts at the First Presbyterian Church of Houston, at 6 p.m. Monday, March 17.
Formerly the Baylor Association of Church Musicians, the Church Music Forum exists to provide enrichment opportunities for church music majors and others interested in church music. The forum brings in a guest speaker three times each semester to encourage and support church music.
“Through the Church Music Forum, students, faculty members and guests are exposed to a variety of approaches to church music and worship arts,” said David Music, Ph.D. professor of church music in Baylor’s School of Music. “It is our hope that through these events Baylor church music graduates will be equipped to go into almost any kind of church and be successful. They get to hear from people who are actually out in the field doing ministry through music.”
Greene’s lecture will focus on the music and worship at First Presbyterian Church of Houston, where she has held her position for six years.
As executive director of worship, Greene has had experience conducting choirs, teaching, speaking, building and managing worship teams, staffing a contemporary worship team, implementing a children's music ministry and more. She also developed and implemented the program Broadway at First for children and youths, which uses Broadway shows to teach confidence, musicality, movement and social issues from a Biblical perspective.
