WACO, Texas (March 8, 2012) - The department of theatre arts at Baylor University will present The 39 Steps March 19 to March 23 in Jones Theatre of the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. Performances through Saturday will begin at 7:30 p.m., with matinees offered on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Tony Award-winning play is based on Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film by the same name. Set in the British Isles during the early 20th century, the story centers on a murder that is connected to a case of espionage. A cast of only six people play more than 140 characters in this comedy thriller directed by Stan Denman, Ph.D., professor and chair of theatre arts in Baylor's College of Arts & Sciences.

This production is open to the public and recommended for audience members 9 years of age and older. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by clicking here, or by visiting the theater box office in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. For more information, call 254-710-1865.
