WACO, Texas (Feb. 20, 2013) - During the weekend of Feb. 22, high school students from across the United States will be on Baylor's campus for YouthCue, a festival that brings youth choirs together to improve musical skills and performance techniques. The festival will conclude with a grand concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave.
This is the sixth year that Baylor has hosted YouthCue, an interdenominational organization founded in 1990 to introduce students to the youth choir experience. The organization has more than 30,000 youths who participate in its festivals and other events.
Each year, youth choirs learn a standard repertoire of music in advance of the festival and later join together at the event to improve their musicality and knowledge. The festival ends with a grand concert by the choirs' 300 voices and members of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra. The concert is free and open to the public.
