WACO, Texas (Dec. 19, 2012) - As construction moves rapidly forward on Baylor University's new on-campus football stadium, Baylor University today launched the Baylor Stadium Bricks Campaign that will allow Baylor Nation to join together in support of the football stadium project.

Through the Baylor Stadium Bricks campaign, fans and others will have the opportunity to financially support the stadium and have that gift acknowledged with a brick - engraved with a personal message - installed at the new stadium.

"These are exciting days for Baylor University and our athletics program, and we look to a bright future that will see Baylor Football return to our beautiful campus in the fall of 2014 at the new Baylor Stadium on the banks of the Brazos River," said Ian McCaw, Director of Baylor Athletics. "As Baylor Nation celebrates a third-straight bowl game and sees another exciting year come to a close, we invite our fans to join us and be part of our future by participating in the Baylor Stadium Bricks campaign. Together, we can help fortify our Athletic programs and our university now and for seasons ahead."

When it opens in fall 2014, Baylor Stadium will be "arguably the most dynamic college football stadium in America," according to Baylor Head Football Coach Art Briles. The $250 million on-campus stadium - under construction now - is located on a 93-acre site at the intersection of Interstate 35, one of the nation's busiest highways, and the Brazos River, the longest waterway in the state of Texas.

Baylor Stadium Bricks will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until all Baylor Stadium bricks are sold.

The new Baylor Stadium will hold 45,000 spectators, with the flexibility to expand to 55,000, and will feature a bridge crossing the Brazos connecting the stadium to the campus. Construction began in fall 2012, thanks to a successful fundraising campaign this spring and summer, along with $35 million in approved TIF funding. In addition to moving football games to the Baylor campus, the Baylor Stadium project is expected to help stimulate riverfront development, revitalize downtown Waco and bring jobs and economic development to the region.

*Fund Raisers, Ltd. is Baylor's vendor for creating and delivering high-quality bricks for installation at Baylor Stadium. Brick color is subject to change. Baylor University reserves the right to review and approve all brick inscriptions. Gifts to the Baylor Stadium Bricks campaign do not affect athletic ticket priority.
