Baylor Regent to Speak at Cinco De Mayo Celebration May 3

WACO, Texas - Dr. Ramiro Abraham Peña, a member of Baylor University's Board of Regents, will be the guest speaker at Baylor's annual Cinco de Mayo celebration from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
A general surgeon with King's Daughter Clinic in Temple, Peña is senior surgeon of the 36-physician multispecialty group. He is a member of the Texas and American Medical Associations and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Peña earned his bachelor of arts degree from Baylor in 1957 and was a 1963 graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
While at Baylor, Peña was ordained a Baptist minister at First Baptist Church of Rosebud. He has continued to be active in the ministry and presently serves as associate pastor of Goodwill Baptist Church in Temple.
The Cinco de Mayo celebration is sponsored by Baylor's Department of Educational Administration. Tickets for the luncheon are $11 each.
