Cable Channel to Present Lecture Series

Two recent educational lecture series sponsored by Baylor University will be aired during the month of April on The College Channel, cable channel 18 in Waco.
The first lecture series is "Christian Conflict in the Medieval World" and is taught by Robert Reid, retired distinguished professor of history and one of Baylor's first Master Teachers. The five-part series investigates the causes and results of clashes between religious sects in the former Holy Roman empire from Medieval times to the present, including a look at the ongoing strife between Moslems and Greek Orthodox followers in the former Yugoslavia.
"Christian Conflict" will air each weekday morning at 10 a.m. during April on The College Channel.
The second lecture series making its debut in April is the 1996 Hixson Lectures, sponsored by the Baylor Center for Christian Education. The theme for this year's Hixson Lectures is "The American Family: Relationship."
The three lectures which make up the series include: "Family Matters: A Story of Change and Continuity" by Dr. Donald Schmeltekopf, Baylor's provost and vice president for academic affairs, airing Mondays at 5 p.m.; "Building Relationships in the Family Today" by Dr. Don Newbury, president of Howard Payne University, airing Tuesdays at 5 p.m.; and "Adolescence and the Life of the Spirit" by Dr. Betty Sue Flowers, professor at the University of Texas in Austin, airing Wednesdays at 5 p.m. during April on The College Channel.
