Religious Liberty Expert to Speak at Baylor April 15-16

Dr. James Dunn, executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee in Washington, D.C., will speak on "Freedom's Roots" Monday and Tuesday, April 15 and 16, at Baylor University.
Dunn will address Baylor's J.M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies at 2 p.m. Monday, April 15, in Room 323 of the Carroll Science Building. He also will speak at 5 p.m. Monday in the Bobo Baptist Student Center. The Monday evening lecture is open to the public.
His third lecture will be at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, in Room 210 at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, located in the First Baptist Church at 500 Webster Street.
An advocate of church-state and religious liberty issues for a number of years, Dunn defends the church's First Amendment rights in federal and congressional court systems. Speaking at institutions such as Baylor is Dunn's delight, he said.
"I rejoice in the Baptist nature of Baylor University and its long history of defending religious liberty," he said.
The author of several books on religious freedom, Dunn has won national awards for his efforts in this area. He is one of the founders of the Texas Fair Campaign Practices Committee.
