Baylor Development Council to Meet Feb. 24

Members of the Baylor University Development Council will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, for their spring meeting.
Council members will meet in the Jesse H. Jones Theater in Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center to hear several reports about the university. Dallas businessman W. Leo Parchman Jr., chair for the Council, will preside.
Ken Carlile, national chairman for Baylor's Sesquicentennial Campaign, will provide an update on the campaign.
Lisa Timmons, director of development for special constituencies for Harris County, will report on the "The Young Graduates Foundation" and Dr. Donald D. Schmeltekopf, provost and vice president for academic affairs, will recognize one student from each of the eight academic schools on campus as "Outstanding Academic Students."
Robin Roewe, a graduate student in the School of Music, will provide special music.
Chuck Reedy, Baylor head football coach, will give the football update and preview, and President Robert B. Sloan Jr. will provide the President's Report.
Sloan also will discuss the Baylor Development Plan for 1996-2006, which includes a multimedia presentation on the proposed Student Life Complex.
Members of the Council, a group of about 400 alumni and friends of the university, actively work to support the growth and development of Baylor.
