Baylor Opera Theater will perform a pair of one-act comedies, Douglas Moore's "Gallantry" and Thomas Pasatieri's "Signor Deluso," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, and also on Thursday, Oct. 13, in Roxy Grove Hall on the Baylor University campus. The events are free and open to the public.

Both operas will be directed by Eric Gibson, visiting lecturer in opera at Baylor, and will be fully staged and costumed. They will be presented in English with piano accompaniment.

Composed in 1957, Moore's "Gallantry" premiered on March 15, 1958, at Columbia University. The opera is a parody of radio and television soap opera, even including the commercial interruptions.

Pasatieri's "Signor Deluso" premiered on July 27, 1974, performed by the Wolf Trap Company at Vienna, Va. It is a comedy of errors, true loves, romantic dalliances and confusion. The title character lives with grand delusions and is confronted with one misunderstanding after another, before the maid intervenes in just enough time to clean up the mess.

Roxy Grove Hall is at 624 Speight Ave.
