Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary Welcomes Renowned Theologian

Scot McKnight, Ph.D., the Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religious Studies at North Park University in Chicago, will be the featured speaker at George W. Truett Theological Seminary's Parchman Endowed Lecture Series from Oct. 11-13.
McKnight, a recognized authority on the New Testament, early Christianity and the historical Jesus, will present four lectures in Paul W. Powell Chapel in the George W. Truett Theological Seminary, 1100 S. Third St., over a three-day period. McKnight will present "American Evangelicalism and the Pastor" and "Universalism and the Pastor" at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
On Wednesday, Oct. 12, McKnight will present "The Gospel and the Pastor" at 9:30 a.m. McKnight's final lecture, "The Atonement and the Pastor" will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.
McKnight is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Society for New Testament Studies. He has authored more than 30 books, including The Jesus Creed: Loving God, Loving Others, which won the Christianity Today book of the year for Christian Living in 2005. More recent books are The Blue Parakeet: Rethinking How You Read the Bible, Fasting and The King Jesus Gospel. 
Each lecture is free and open to the public.
