Lifelong Learning Events

  • Lifelong Learning events are open to the public and a great way to learn more about the program before joining as a member.
  • Coffee events are free, do not require advanced registration, and you are welcome to invite a friend.
  • Online registration is available for luncheons one month prior to the event.
  • LLL’s Events Committee designs coffees, luncheons, and bus trips for each fall and spring. Email LifelongLearning@Baylor.edu to suggest a speaker, venue, or destination to the Committee.

These events are free and open to the public with the exception of the Christmas Luncheon. LLL members are encouraged to share this event information with friends.

 

Friday, August 27, Kick-Off Event at Lee Lockwood Library

Entertainment: “After Midnight” instrumental musical group featuring Baylor faculty and staff members.
Free and open to the public. No advanced registration required.

Friday, October 8, at the Mayborn Museum
9:30 am Refreshments; 10 am Program

Speaker: Keith Kooyman, Cybersecurity Instructor at Texas State Technical College: “Understanding Cybersecurity in Today’s World.”
Free and open to the public. No advanced registration required.

Trip to Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth

Register early to enjoy a free, docent-led tour of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth. We will break into small groups to explore two special collections, and the archives that are not usually open to the public. Masks are required at the museum.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation but are welcome to carpool with other attendees. Arrive at the Amon Carter by 10:00 am. Lunch on your own will be at a nearby food court.
No additional fee will be charged. Space is limited and registration is required. Deadline to register is November 2. This program is limited to the first 45 participants.

Lifelong Learning Christmas Luncheon

Cashion, 5th floor
Cost: $23 per person
Lifelong Learning members and their guests are invited to join us for a Christmas Luncheon. Participants can enjoy musical entertainment from Louis White and a lecture from Dr. Gary Elkins of the Baylor Mind-Body Medicine Research Laboratory. Visitor parking is available nearby. Register here.



These activities are subject to change.

The coffees are free and open to the public. Trips and luncheons require an active Lifelong Learning Membership.

Speaker: Brad Turner, Professor at McLennan Community College: “Haybales, Goatmen, and Witches: Waco Myths.” Enjoy Waco’s social memories from this 7th generation Wacoan.

Bus trip to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Explore the 11 permanent exhibit halls featuring engineering, technology, and conservation. This museum has something for everyone. The cost of this trip includes the chartered bus, admission to the museum, and a box lunch from the museum café.
