The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University will feature Roy Hanscom: Containers beginning August 12 and running though September 21. Roy Hanscom is a ceramic artist with whimsical but functional designs for containers.
Roy Hanscom is the ceramic Professor at Lone Star College-North Harris. He is a member of Clay Houston, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting clay in the Houston area. Mr. Hanscom exhibits his work both nationally and regionally in juried and invitational exhibitions. He received his MFA in 1980 from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Prior to his career in higher education, Mr. Hanscom was a production potter in Wichita, Kansas.
Roy Hanscom will give a Gallery Talk at 5:30 on Thursday, September 18. A reception with light refreshments will follow. The event and exhibition are free, and the public is cordially invited.
The Martin Museum of Art is located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor University campus. HOURS are 10am-6pm Tuesday – Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday and 1-4pm Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays and during university holidays. Admission is free and all events are open to the public, unless specified.
