Donating Artwork

Donations of artwork require a formal application process that brings the proposal before the Museum Advisory Committee. As the committee meets twice a year, please note that the application process may take up to six months.

Steps for submitting donation proposal:

  1. Gather general information about the artwork: artist, title, medium, dimensions.

  2. Gather information about the provenance of the work: How did you come to own it? Where or whom did you recieve it from? Who owned it before you? When did you acquire it?

  3. Take photos of the work, including the front, back, and bottom of three dimensional artworks. Please include any details of damage, signatures, dates.

  4. Submit a formal proposal to the museum. Send the above information to us by clicking this email address. martin_museum@baylor.edu

  5. Potential donors will be notified whether their propsal has been accepted by the committee or not. Accepted donations valued over $5,000 must be formally appraised by a third party, certified appraiser per IRS tax code.
