“Since I was a kid, I always thought computer programming was going to be my thing, because I'm a bit of a computer geek. Last fall, I was having a bit of, ‘Oh, I guess I don't like this; what do I do with myself?’
“One of the adjunct professors here, Bob Lemley, really helped me get myself figured out. ‘What do I want to do instead of this? Am I really serious about this switch?’ I mean, it’s not a given as a transfer student; as a junior, you're already kinda late in the process. Switching majors is kinda a tougher deal than for a freshman.
“I transferred in from McLennan Community College. I graduated MCC spring of 2018, with an associate's in computer science. I just don't see myself doing that for the rest of my life. So, I switched to the business school. I took like seven classes to get all caught up. I got all A's, so it's alright. Now I'm going for my master’s in accounting instead.
“The goal of the MCC ambassador program is to help MCC students who are interested in coming to Baylor, to inform them on how to do that process, and if they're serious about it, to help guide them through that process. ... I can help them with that, because I've done it myself.
“Baylor is an incredibly wonderful place. I honestly never thought that I'd want to go here, but now, it's honestly one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I'm absolutely enjoying every day of it.”
