Chet Edwards first represented Texas’ 11th Congressional District and then the 17th District from 1991 until 2010. Chet’s life of public service began in 1982 when he was elected the youngest Texas state senator at age 31. Edwards served in the Texas senate until 1991 when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Chet was named the W. R. Poage Distinguished Chair of Public Service in January 2012. He is in residence two weeks each semester to speak to classes, student and faculty groups, and mentor students one-on-one. Please contact Jonathan Tomes for more information about Chet’s Baylor schedule.
