David Burns

BA, Telecommunication, Baylor University
MS, Education, Baylor University
David has worked in the field of academic technology for more than two decades. After serving as Technology Specialist for Waco ISD, he began working at Baylor in 1998, providing support for instructional computer labs across campus, back when computer monitors weighed 40 lbs. or more (looking at you, Apple). After twenty years of working with student technology, he stepped into his current role in October 2019. ("You ready?", whispered 2020 from the dark corner of the office.)
David is truly privileged to work with so many friendly, creative, innovative, enthusiastic, and fastidious colleagues. He likes using big words, playing games of all kinds, eating popcorn while watching a movie, and has dabbled in making homemade kimchi. (Turns out it's a pretty forgiving endeavor.) His wonderful family is very patient with him.
When he thinks about it for second, he still finds hope and enthusiasm for the potential of technology to make us better people.
