Checkout Program Rules of Use

CHECKOUT TERMS - follow receipt and online checkout record.
All items checked out for one day free of charge, with one online renewal permitted on the due date for one additional day (visit All items must be returned directly to TechPoint desk. It is your responsibility to know library hours. Abuse of the checkout terms could result in lost privileges.

BAYLOR ID CARD USE - use only your own Baylor ID card.
Patrons will only be permitted to checkout items using their own Baylor ID card. Other forms of ID are not permitted. No patron of this program may use another individual's Baylor ID card to check out a laptop. A Baylor ID card will be confiscated if it is presented to the desk by someone who is not the true owner. Confiscated cards will be held in staff offices. Confiscated cards will only be returned to the true owner of the card, upon presentation of state issued identification or passport.

OVERDUE FEES - fees apply for items kept beyond due date.
You will incur a fee for each calendar day an item is kept past the due date. Daily fees are $10 for major items, $5 for peripherals and adapters, and $1 for all other accessories. Fees are added to your account within two weeks. Regardless of any fees, all items must be returned. [NOTE: after seven (7) days, you will incur additional charges for unreturned items.]

DAMAGE FEES - you will be charged for damages you cause.
Patrons of this program will be held responsible for any operational or cosmetic damages that occur to our equipment during their checkout. A minimum of $50 will be charged for new damages caused to a laptop or other major equipment.

THEFT & LOSS - you are responsible for items in your care.
Patrons will be held responsible, up to replacement cost plus expenses, for the theft or loss of any equipment checked out to them. A laptop and other items in a patron's care should never be left unattended. Patrons must keep track of all items checked out under their account.
Patrons may be held accountable for theft of equipment fraudulently checked out with their stolen Baylor ID card. Every student should carefully protect their Baylor ID card from theft or loss. Lost cards should be deactivated at:
